Federal Revenue Service updates CBS calculation APIs
Gov.br Portal, September 14, 2026 - The Federal Revenue Service has published new technical documentation for the APIs used to calculate the Contribution on Goods and Services (CBS), with new formats expected to be made available free of charge starting in October 2026. The tools will allow users to check liabilities, credits, and payments, as well as generate DARFs (Federal Tax Payment Form) for tax collection by merchants and taxpayer payments. The main new feature is the ability to perform incremental queries, in which the API will return only the changes that have occurred since the last query. This measure is expected to reduce processing time and the volume of data transferred, benefiting taxpayers, software companies, and organizations with a large volume of transactions. The services will be rolled out gradually between October and November 2026.
