A new phase: Luciana Uchôa is assigned as DPC’s new president
From intern to president, the business executive has been appointed to the role, preserving the company's principles while following through with the ongoing changes
27 years ago, then-student Luciana Uchôa found in DPC a chance to climb the career ladder at a renowned accounting company. After starting out as an intern, she gradually moved through every job role in the sector, including those within the technical executive board, and has now risen to presidency.
Luciana succeeds Manuel Domingues e Pinho, founder of DPC, with whom she has always worked very closely. Manuel now leads the Board of Directors, taking part in the company’s strategic decisions.The businesswoman is tasked with the mission of leading a company that has been running for 38 years, with a team of 608 people, among partners and employees, and a customer base of over 600 clients, following through with DPC’s expansion plans and preserving its principles of excellence and ethics, while remaining attentive to the demands of the new times.
“DPC is currently going through a very special moment, an evolution period, and is taking solid actions to remain ever more in tune with its market segment, as well as with society and its new generation of employees, without losing sight of what has brought the company here – its principles", says the president.
Luciana's appointment to the role represents some of these principles, which are at DPC’s DNA.
The company, which has always held the training of its professionals in high regard, will now be led by a home-grown talent. In fact, the opportunity for professional development was one of the factors that attracted her towards joining DPC. Now she actively paves the way for building learning paths that encapsulate technical and behavioral training for the employees.
“We will continue to invest heavily in the training and development of our talents, at all levels, including leadership. From the very first day at the company, we foster a culture of constant improvement, allied to personal and professional growth. Our search for excellence must be both on technical level and customer service, without overlooking soft skills.”
DPC, whose executive board has always had a strong female presence, will now be run by a female president.
