FGTS profits: distribution to workers will be made by the end of August

On July 27, CC/FGTS Resolution No. 1,066/2023 was published by the Board of Trustees of the Brazilian Severance Indemnity Fund for Employees (FGTS). The regulation sets out the rules for distribution of the fund's profit to workers. More than 12.7 billion stemming from the net income recorded by the FGTS in 2022 will be shared.

According to the resolution, workers who had checking accounts linked to the fund on December 31, 2022 are entitled to the benefit. Profits will be shared in proportion to the balance of each account, at a 0.02461511 index.

The Federal Savings Bank of Brazil (‘Caixa Econômica Federal’ – CEF) will take the necessary measures so that all accounts receive their corresponding credits by August 31, 2023.
