SEPRT Ordinance 1127/2019 presented the dates and conditions under which the reporting obligations of the employer in the CAGED and RAIS systems will be replaced by eSocial, effective from January 1, 2020.
The measure was announced as an important step towards simplification, as it represents, according to the eSocial Portal, “a significant reduction in corporate obligations”. By providing this information in a sole original, errors and inconsistencies in government databases tend to decrease.
Follow the planning of each obligation, according to the ordinance issued by the Special Secretariat of Social Security and Labor:
The replacement of CAGED will take place for hiring and terminations from January 2020, valid for the majority of employers (groups 1, 2 and 3), according to the deadlines established by law.
Government agencies and international entities (group 4) do not have a definite date yet, as they are not yet required to report to eSocial.
The RAIS will be replaced from the base year 2019 (statement in 2020). The obligation will be replaced for companies that currently send their employees’ salary data for the full base year 2019 (groups 1 and 2) to eSocial.
Using CAGED and RAIS systems will, therefore, be restricted to providing information to employers who are not yet required to the eSocial.
