Siscoserv – Recent changes should be followed

In December 2018, two ordinances were published that brought news regarding Integrated Foreign Trade in Services, Intangibles and Other Operations that Produce Changes in Equity – Siscoserv.

Siscoserv should provide information on transactions between residents or domiciled in Brazil and residents or domiciled abroad including services, intangibles and other operations that produce changes in individuals, legal entities or depersonalized entities equity. There have been significant changes that deserve the attention of companies and individuals required to provide information in the system, as follows:

a) Amendment of Annexes I and II of the NBS and the NEBS version 2.0

RFB/SCS Joint Ordinance 2000, published in the Official Gazette on Dec-20-2018, replaces Annexes the I and II of the RFB/SCS Joint Ordinance 1429/2018, which approved version 2.0 of the Brazilian Nomenclature of Services, Intangibles and Other Transactions that Produce Changes in Equity (NBS) and the Explanatory Notes to the Brazilian Nomenclature of Services, Intangibles and Other Transactions that Produce Changes in Equity (NEBS).

The NBS is a classifier of services, intangible and other operations for registration purposes in SISCOSERV, being one of the most relevant information in this process.

The changes, which have been valid since Jan-01-19, were focused on detailing and breaking up codes and descriptions, seeking to specify better services. Because of this, it is important to work with the classification of the service with NBS 2.0, ensuring that the information is correctly provided in Siscoserv.

In order to facilitate the use of the new version of NBS, the Commerce and Services Secretariat (SCS) has designed a supporting document that establishes the correlation between versions 1.1 and 2.0 of the Nomenclature, which can be consulted 12th Edition of the Manual –Acquisition module

Siscoserv still raises doubts and many individuals and companies, although they are obliged have not yet carried out any type of entries. Such behavior exposes them to fines.
